Terms & Conditions

These terms explain how the FirstContact Legal website and AI client intake platform may be used by law firms and their teams.

1. About these terms

These Terms & Conditions govern your use of the FirstContact Legal website and, where applicable, the FirstContact Legal AI client intake platform. By using the website or the platform you agree to these terms.

FirstContact Legal provides AI-assisted client intake, call answering and enquiry qualification services for UK law firms.

2. Early Access programme

FirstContact Legal is currently available through an invitation-based Early Access and Founding Firm programme. Access is granted at our discretion and may be limited, changed or withdrawn while the platform remains pre-launch.

Features, availability and pricing described on this website may change before general release.

3. Use of the service

When using FirstContact Legal you agree to:

  • Use the service only for lawful purposes and in line with your professional obligations.
  • Keep account credentials secure and not share access with unauthorised individuals.
  • Ensure any information you provide about your firm, team and services is accurate.
  • Not attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer or gain unauthorised access to the platform.

4. Professional responsibility

FirstContact Legal supports client intake. It does not provide legal advice, and it does not replace the professional judgement of a qualified solicitor. Your firm remains responsible for all legal advice, client care obligations, conflict checks and regulatory compliance.

5. AI processing

Enquiries handled by FirstContact Legal are processed using automated speech and language technology to capture, structure and summarise information. Outputs such as the Solicitor Brief™ are summaries intended to prepare your team, and should be reviewed by a fee earner before being relied upon.

6. Subscriptions and billing

Where a paid subscription applies, the plan, price and billing period will be confirmed in writing before the subscription begins. Subscription fees are billed in advance unless agreed otherwise, and trial periods convert to a paid plan only where this has been agreed.

Additional terms may apply to usage above the allowances included in your plan.

7. Integrations and third-party services

FirstContact Legal may connect to third-party services such as telephony providers, email systems and practice management tools at your request. Your use of those services remains subject to the terms of the relevant provider.

8. Intellectual property

All rights in the FirstContact Legal platform, branding, website content and the Solicitor Brief™ format remain the property of FirstContact Legal. Content generated for your firm during intake remains your firm's property.

9. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that, FirstContact Legal is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss arising from your firm's reliance on intake output without professional review.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the platform develops, including as subscriptions, billing, customer accounts and further integrations are introduced. The current version will always be published on this page with the date it was last updated.
